Sean and John will discuss the unique heritage of boating and rowing in Muckross, recalling the visit of Queen Victoria and the Queen’s Barge to traditional lake racing boats in Muckross.

Four talented rowers from the Muckross Rowing Club in Killarney will this coming Saturday July 27 represent their country at the Home International Regatta which is taking place in Strathclyde, Scotland.

His retirement party on Friday brought National Park and trustee staff together, and the day included a group photo on the grounds of Muckross and tea, coffee, or a glass of wine at a reception in the Great Hall.

The programme of events will commence at 10.30am with a historical talk entitled ‘Muckross - A Rowing History’ delivered by Sean Coffey and John Beazley.

They worked together over two days to help tackle the scourge of invasive rhododendron at Abbey Wood, Muckross.

THE feasibility of providing a lay-by near the entrance to Muckross House and Gardens, from where members of the public can safely watch deer grazing, is to be considered by Kerry County Council.
