A fifth-dimensional imp who loves to irritate Superman, Mxyzptlk essentially considers DC's main plane of existence to be a playground where reality warps and changes at his command.

Mister Mxyzptlk would arrive on Earth every so often and mess with Superman until he returned to the Fifth Dimension.

The epic do-over came courtesy of Mr. Mxyzptlk, who now looks suspiciously like the non-Matthew Perry half of CBS’ reboot.

The creator John Byrne once parodied the Beyonder by letting Mister Mxyzptlk assume a form and identity that was similar in clothing and appearance to the Beyonder in this first appearance in the post-Crisis continuity.
