After the British let India, a section of Nagas under the leadership of Angami Zapu Phizo sought to establish a separate country for the Nagas.

The Nagas are the largest tribal group in Manipur followed by the Kukis.

This is reflected in the demand that the Meitei also be given the Constitutional status of Scheduled Tribe (ST) which the Christian Kukis, Mizos, Nagas and other tribes enjoy.

Furthermore, the idea of nationhood is still running deep in the blood of many Nagas up till date.

Historically, the Nagas lived as an independent people until colonial intervention disrupted their autonomy.

However, in June last year, the Kohima bench of the the order observing dog consumption тАЬto be an accepted normтАЭ among the Nagas even in modern times.

Humtsoe emphasized the need for Nagas to develop a sense of civic responsibility, urging the community to adopt better practices for a cleaner future.

It was a Kairos moment for the Nagas, God’s appointed time for us, a decisive moment that was destined to change the history of the Naga people forever.

Now the Nagas also live in Mijoram, Manipur and even in the Arunachal Pradesh.

The film explores the rich culture and traditions of the Tangkhul Nagas before their encounter with Christianity, specifically the ‘Maran Kasa’ (Feast of Merits) ritual.
