Big tech firms – including Facebook and Instagram’s parent company Meta, along with Elon Musk’s Neuralink – are developing technology that can detect brain activity then potentially put it to commercial use.

In a blog post, Neuralink announced that recruitment is open for the first-in-human clinical trial of its wireless brain-computer interface (BCI).

Other companies have already developed similar technology to Neuralink’s.

Thousands of people have reportedly shown interest in participating in the FDA-approved human trials of the brain-computer interface developed by Elon Musk’s Neuralink.

Why is Neuralink in the news?

After the ruling, he pledged to leave the state entirely and has since moved his brain-interface company Neuralink to Nevada.
