Content plan, Wabote explained, has provision for 100 percent engineering of all non-cryogenic areas in-country, totaling 55 percent man-hours, which exceeds the minimum level stipulated in the & Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.

It said the event would bring together industry experts and stakeholders for robust discussions on the compliance requirements of NOGICD Act with suggestions on strategies towards achieving full compliance by relevant companies.

By the NOGICD Act of 2010, all such companies operating in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector must have a shareholding of 51 per cent for Nigerians and 49 per cent for others to be given approval by NCDMB, the regulatory body on Local Content law.

It was during this pre-NOGICD period that Total decided to invest in the establishment of a world class petroleum training institution right here in Nigeria; showing its commitment to capacity building and the development of Nigerian Content.
