In another instance, the Nkwere representative in the House of Assembly, Obinna Okwara defected from the AA; Paul Emeziem from Onuimo left the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) alongside Ekene Nnodumele of Orsu.

The lawmakers who defected are Authur Egwim (Ideato North), AA; Chyna Iwuanyanwu (Nwangele), PDP; Chidiebere Ogbunikpa (Okigwe), PDP; Obinna Okwara (Nkwerre), AA; and Paul Emeziem (Onuimo) also from PDP.

Until the nullification of his mandate, Onwubuariri represented Isiala Mbano/Onuimo/Okigwe federal constituency of Imo State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Offor is also a victim of the rotational policy in Onuimo politics.
