Sevastopol’s girls basketball team closed out its regular-season schedule Saturday undefeated in the Packerland Conference with a 49-21 victory at Peshtigo.

Sevastopol’s softball team won both games of Friday’s Packerland Conference doubleheader at Kewaunee.

The Eagles, who won the Packerland Conference baseball title the past two seasons, are scheduled to open the season April 1 with a home doubleheader against Sevastopol.

Southern Door’s baseball team is entering the postseason 11-8 overall after sweeping a Packerland Conference doubleheader and then dropping a non-conference game late last week.

The Eagles, who previously lost conference dual meets to Peshtigo and Kewaunee, finished third in the Packerland with a 2-2 record.

The Pioneers, who last season went undefeated at 16-0 in the conference, ended up this year in a tie for top of the Packerland at 14-2 with Kewaunee, which won its regular-season finale Thursday at Algoma.

The JBS Packerland plant employs more than 1,200 people and feeds nearly 3.2 million people per day, the company said.

The only substantive change is two rounds of playoffs instead of five for 11-player football, Packerland Commissioner Mike Holtz said.

The Vikings travel to Packerland Conference foe Green Bay NEW Lutheran-Providence Academy Thursday at 7 p.m. The Vikings and the Blazers split their two matches in the regular season.

Afton Wenger of NEW Lutheran has been voted as the Packerland Conference player of the year.
