During the investigation, the CBI recorded the statement of Sanjay Arun Sadvilkar, a Kolhapur-based artisan who was a witness in the Govind Pansare murder case.

Pansare said that relations between the two friends had become strained recently over sharing profits from their businesses.

When I asked if Pansare’s murder had made him more cautious, he deflected my question.
