Scene 2: The courtyard of the Temple of Ordeal Tamino and Papageno are led in by two priests for the first trial.

Scene change without interrupting the music, to Scene 8: A garden with a tree Papageno and Papagena.

She disappears as Papageno asks for her name, and the three child-spirits bring in food, the magic flute, and the bells, sent from Sarastro.

She offers sympathy and hope to Papageno, who longs for a wife.

She replies that she does and that his name is Papageno.
