A restaurant in Pateley Bridge has been awarded a new food hygiene rating according to the Food Standards Agency’s website.

Elizabeth Phelan, one of the community organisers, said: “We are trying to bring the spirit of Christmas to Pateley Bridge.

Hebden Lodge sits in a plot which extends to around 0.3 acres and is situated on the edge of the popular Lower Nidderdale village of Dacre Banks, just under five miles from Pateley Bridge and around 11-and-a-half miles from Harrogate.

Councillor Andrew Murday added he had spent two years in a struggle to maintain the school in Lofthouse, which had failed despite it being key to the Upper Nidderdale community and some seven miles from Pateley Bridge.

Pateley Bridge Cricket Club (PBCC) wants to draw on fresh interest for the junior league in the run-up to the new season.

The routes will all start from Pateley Bridge Scout Hall and head up Nidderdale towards, and for many beyond, to Lofthouse.

More than 200 flood warnings were issued across England, including one rated severe at Pateley Bridge, in North Yorkshire, meaning there is a danger to life, which was later stood down.
