A FOOTBALLER and his friends are set to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of Pendleside Hospice.

Guests stepped onto the red carpet for a charity ball that raised the fantastic total of £50,000 for Pendleside Hospice and Burnley Community Grocery.

Money raised will go to Pendleside Hospice, which not only looks after those who are poorly, but offers a wealth of other services, including counselling for children who have experienced bereavement.

Pendleside Hospice is hosting its first Memories on the Lake event, sponsored by Alderson & Horan Funeral Services, on Saturday, May 20.
