History Month in a sentence

Every president in the United States since 1976 has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black history.

Black History Month carries a wide range of meanings for people all over the country in part due to one’s background, upbringing, culture, values, and skin color, there is a wide variety and extent to how Black History Month is observed.

But Black History Month wasn’t a big deal because Black History Month happened eight months out of the school year (laughs).

In celebration of Black History Month, we sat down with Dwight Warren, Business Banking Market Manager for JPMorgan Chase in Phoenix, to discuss what Black History Month means to him, how the firm is advancing racial equity and Dwight’s goals for 2023.
