Maui Tennis and Pickleball Association is serving up the sport of pickleball to 20 elementary school students in South Maui.

The $2 million pickleball and tennis court expansion project was first announced as part of the city’s 2022 budget in order to accommodate Grand Junction’s growing pickleball community.

The Pagosa Pickleball Club is hosting the Fall Grand Opening Tournament on September 29, 30 and October 1, to celebrate the completion of the Town of Pagosa Springs’ eight new dedicated pickleball courts.

Cooke acknowledged that pickleball wasn’t part of the initial plans for Marshall Park, but then came a park district community survey last year in which pickleball was ranked in the top five of 32 items residents would like to see in the parks.
