The firm’s strongest product is currently the Polestar 2, but Polestar is set to launch new electric vehicle models this year and the EV portfolio is broadening.

To go a step further, Polestar is currently offering discounts on the Polestar 3, a vehicle that's not even available to consumers just yet.

Polestar 2 pricing has been detailed for some of its initial markets in Europe—and that includes pricing of the Polestar 2 Performance Pack version.

You can learn more about the Polestar 1's use of carbon fiber in the video below, including the body panels and a thing Polestar calls the “dragonfly,” which is a cross piece that reinforces part of the steel chassis.

Although Polestar is 100% electric, it was good to see the Crown as a hybrid with similar curvatures confirming the wave of the future is here and rear seat comfort is somewhat of a priority.

And, when you get up close to each, the Polestar feels like a smaller car from the outside, yet still spacious on the interior.

Both U.S.-based EV companies achieve significantly higher market valuations which, given the accomplishments presented by Polestar for the second-quarter, is not deserved in my opinion.

Despite the recent flurry of EV releases, the Polestar 2 stands out with its decent range, DC fast charging capabilities, and a host of other features.

Eligible luxury EVs include Tesla models S, 3, X and Y, the Polestar 2, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Audi e-Tron, the Porsche Taycan and the Hyundai Ioniq.

How that will work out for Polestar remains to be seen, but at least for now, it sounds like a smart strategy.

It’s worth noting that Polestar 4 is expected to be launched in 2023.

Of course, it’s more likely than not that the market, and Wall Street analysts, are on point with their view that it could be tough sledding ahead for Polestar and its peers.

Polestar 4: Will it fit in my garage?

Polestar hasn’t stated what kind of range the 5 will deliver, however.

Rivalling the Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback and Mercedes EQE SUV, at 4.84m, it’s marginally smaller than the Polestar 3, but the firm still promises ‘generous interior proportions’.

So, at Circuit Mécaglisse, we started out small: In the slalom section, for example, we were tasked with trying out the Polestar 2’s different steering and one-pedal driving modes to see how various settings impact the car’s handling.

Some other recently introduced electric SUVs, including ones from Volvo and Polestar, will have similar technology.

The company recently launched the Polestar 3 at New York’s Hudson Yards.

The Model 3 has the benefit of Tesla’s excellent charging infrastructure and superior in-car software, while the Polestar 2 has a great build quality and high-quality materials.
