Positionality

All Ms. Vasquez did was tell stories of a Lumad girl, her indigenous community’s situation, her positionality as a student of an elite school and raised by a middle-class family and her insights as she went on fieldwork.

I’d also like to spur a wider conversation about the degree to which aid organisations will need to directly challenge their own staff if they are to initiate the radical changes necessary to dismantle a powerful system of positionality and privilege.
