Prepper in a sentence

On the opposite end of the spectrum, a new type of prepper is emerging: young, left-leaning but just as afraid the world as we know it is on the precipice of collapse.

Such a person is known as a prepper.

The meaning is pretty straight forward, but basically, it’s just a prepper/survivalist’s way of saying that during a long term survival crisis or collapse of society things are going to get bad, real bad!

A doomsday prepper has compiled several detailed maps showing the locations ofhundreds of fallout shelters in dozens of U.S. states and across the world.

For every Westside wellness evangelist proudly displaying a Berkey at a garden party, there’s a disaster prepper who values the filter as a bulwark against disease in a post-apocalyptic world.

I cracked a joke about a prepper stereotype in the excerpt for this article, but this is a serious convention that seeks to prepare you to survive an apocalypse.

While this goes against the prepper, rugged self-reliance theories, I think it is the main thing that has made sense since the Ides of March 2020: more community.
