Denis Cox senior began his career as a lowly desk clerk before working his way up to becoming CEO of various racecourses.

Since the very beginning, the board’s driving ideology has been to make Naas one of the best racecourses in Ireland.

She has already ridden more than 250 winners, at racecourses all over South Africa, and was twice national champion apprentice.

She qualified the following year and went to work at Market Rasen and Nottingham Racecourses, before moving onto Warwick and Huntingdon.

Since its renovation back in 2016, it has earned a reputation for being one of the UK’s best small racecourses and features everything you need to have a quality day or night out with friends and family.

A BHA spokesman said: "A lot of hard work has gone in to making the first week run as smoothly as it has, and the teams at the BHA and Racecourses as well as our trainers, jockeys and stable staff deserve a great deal of credit.

The Jockey Club owns 15 racecourses, including Aintree, which hosts the Grand National, and Epsom Downs, home of the Derby.

The sport’s Resumption of Racing Group – established by the Covid-19 Racing Industry Group – has been working with horsemen, racecourses and others on a plan to resume racing behind closed doors as soon as that becomes possible.

Any structure is welcome; the list in 2018 included everything from castles and cathedrals to racecourses, cranes, fountains, and even a telephone box!

The introduction of special excursion trains meant that all classes of society could attend the new racecourses opening across the country.
