Police successfully apprehended the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Rakeem Jones, a resident of Northwest, D.C. Jones was taken into custody on Friday, and a handgun, believed to be the weapon involved in the incident, was recovered by the officers.

Tyrell Rakeem Sanders, 28, of Columbia, has been charged with breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature in connection with the shooting, according to the NCSO.

Blout was the matriarch of her family with eight grandchildren: Kevin Blount Sr., Willie Davis IV, Joaquin Blount, Chaz Davis, Stephen Davis, Rakeem Blount, Amber Blount and Chole Blount.
