Ralenkotter was facing two felony charges, theft and misconduct by a public officer, that were dismissed when he pleaded no contest to misdemeanour official misconduct.

Ralenkotter, who has denied wrongdoing, declined to comment Wednesday on whether he was in plea discussions.

Rossi Ralenkotter’s effort to enrich himself at taxpayer expense represents an abuse of the public trust — something prosecutors must keep in mind if they look to cut a deal.

Ralenkotter has not submitted anything detailing his work for the months of February, March and April.

The Review-Journal reported in March that Rossi Ralenkotter, the authority’s former CEO, pushed for the substation expansion after he became a target of the police investigation over his use of $17,000 in gift cards for personal travel.

Former regional sales director Arnold Ralenkotter received 21 months, former regional sales manager Jay Stinnett also received 21 months, and former regional sales manager John Spiewak received 30 months.
