Government insensitivity to the plight and demands of workers like doctors, nurses, teachers, journalists, and security agencies is nothing short of cruel, especially when compared to politicians’ remunerations.

No new information here is new, other than many will lose their homes whilst developers and highly paid government persons (political and other) will retire on their fat investments / remunerations, often in foreign lands.

And if some of the contracts are tight, there is no way they can get further remunerations.

Many people, therefore, receive their remunerations on the card and the interoperability means that funds received on the card, can be moved to their bank account as well as their MoMo wallet.

Presenting them with cheques covering their outstanding remunerations, the governor said the gesture was devoid of political consideration.

He added that this act had two implications: endorsement of alleged infraction and abandonment of duties for which enormous remunerations had been self awarded.

Imo State Government under Governor Okorocha had before now refused to obey any of these judgments resulting to high growth of fines, penalties and increase in remunerations of affected officers against the state.

Nevertheless, board members often receive remunerations amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars per year since they often sit on the boards of several companies.

These remunerations vary between corporations, but usually consist of a yearly or monthly salary, additional compensation for each meeting attended, stock options, and various other benefits. such as travel, hotel and meal expenses for the board meetings.
