The roads identified for whitetopping include Tannery Road, Mosque Road, DJ Halli main road, Hennur 80ft road, CBI Road, Dinnur Main Road, Malleswaram 8th main road, Holiday Village Road (near Kanakapura Road) and Bull Temple road among others.

The driver failed to stop for officers and they followed it along Hatch Pond Road, Canford Heath Road, Ringwood Road, High Howe Lane, Knighton Heath Road, Magna Road, Ringwood Road and into Millhams Road, where it eventually stopped.

Some of the roads that may be affected include: Obajana road, Abuja-Kano Road, Bodo-Bonny road, East-West road, Lagos-Ibadan expressway road, Kogi-Auchi road and Zaria-Sokoto road.

Clarence Road, Newport Road, Ocean View Road, Mitchell Avenue, St Boniface Road, Leeson Road, Ventnor Footpath 109, Bonchurch Road, Cowleaze Hill and Church Road.

A police spokesperson said: “There will be diversions in place at the junctions between Moyarget Road and Magheramore Road, Straid Road and Whitepark Road, and Church Road and Moyarget Road.

The boat race has also meant that is on diversion via Mortlake Road, Kew Road, Kew Bridge, Chiswick High Road, Great West Road, Cedars Road, Ellesmere Road and Hogarth Lane due to the closure of Chiswick Bridge.

Arulogun listed others as Ijokodo – Apete road now Ambassador Olu Sanu road; Onireke-Agbarigo road now Onikepo Akande road and Festac road at Mokola now Adebayo Faleti road.

The King’s Gate/Queen’s Road roundabout, Gallowgate Car Park and Westburn Road are other roads all identified for resurfacing work along with Grampian Road, Golf Road, Linksfield Road and St Machar Road.

Other schemes are proposed for Carter Avenue, Witbank Gardens, Orchard Road, Rylstone Road, Victoria Avenue, Queens Road, Church Road and Steephill Road.

Penny Lane, Fife Street, Beaver Hill Road, Weedon Street, Wortley Road, Manchester Road (junction with Rails Road and Rivelin Valley Road) have all remained closed since yesterday (October 20).

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Mill Road in Cambridge is currently closed between Hemingford Road and Belgrave Road, and Coleridge Road is closed at the Mill Road junction.

Under the plans two will be added to Pool Hill Road, five to Doseley Road, six to Frame Lane, four to St Luke’s Road – replacing the existing traffic calming measures, two to Woodhouse Lane, two to Bridge Road, and four to Wellington Road.

Wandsworth Council has proposed to restrict vehicle movement on Northcote Road from Battersea Rise to Broomwood Road, and Wakehurst Road from Webbs Road to Northcote Road.

Roads set to be repaved include Rittman Road, Shuster Road, Glasgow Road, Donaldson Road, Lawrence Court, Quail Ridge Court and a portion of Logan Road.

The $4.65 million plan aims to construct a road – named Mount Mary Road – from Ballan Road, near Ripley Road, to St Arnaud Road in Eynesbury.

The programme will see resurfacing on King Brude Road, Castle Street, Drummond Road, Crown Circus, Millburn Road, Seafield Road and Barn Church Road.

The roads running parallel west to east were the Strand Road, Merchant Road, Maha Bandula (née Dalhousie) Road, Anawrahta (Fraser) Road, and Bogyoke Aung San (Montgomerie) Road.
