Aged 90 years, passed away peacefully at Sherdley Manor Residential Care Home on June 23. A beloved husband to the late Marie Teresa Stead and a much-loved father to the late Belinda Stead.

A FAMILY friendly festival planned to take place at Sherdley Park next month has been cancelled.

It followed a report a van had mounted the grass verge at the junction of the St Helens Linkway and Sherdley Road. said at this stage they believe the driver of the van, a man, suffered a medical episode.

The set up at Sherdley Park will include a main stage but there will also be fairground rides and children’s activities to keep with the family them of the event.
