Silseth

Although Washington said on Sunday that right-hander Chase Silseth could be a candidate, the Angels now have Silseth’s next minor league rehab start scheduled for Thursday.

Silseth, 23, and Moniak, 25, have both shown enough this season to have likely roles on the Angels in 2024.

The Angels also have struggled to get consistent work out of their bullpen, and Silseth could be part of the answer to that problem.

He currently needs to pitch his way into a five-man rotation that tentatively includes left-handers Patrick Sandoval, Reid Detmers and Tyler Anderson and right-handers Griffin Canning and Chase Silseth.

Right-hander Chase Silseth, 24, was a non-factor this season after beginning the year in the rotation.

The starters will be Sandoval, Detmers, Anderson, Silseth and right-hander Griffin Canning.
