A group of farmers coming to Delhi was stopped by police at the Singhu border, with officials saying 24 of them were detained and their vehicles were kept at a police station.

At the Singhu and Tikri borders, however, farmers recalled that nearby shopkeepers and petrol pump owners used to help them.

Singhu border was heavily fortified with five layers of metal barricades topped with barbed wires, two layers of cement barricades, and trucks and eight portable cabins blocking roads.

The traffic, meanwhile, continued to crawl near the border points sealed by police, with traffic congestion being reported from the Singhu border towards Delhi.

They were detained on Monday night by the Delhi Police at the city’s Singhu border for violating prohibitory orders.
