In the 2022 midterms, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, was the only incumbent governor who did not win reelection.

And if they need any help from Mr. Sisolak, they’ll ask for it.

A new survey shows 49 percent of businesses were in compliance with Gov. Steve Sisolak’s mask mandate, while coronavirus cases continue to rise statewide.

At his Monday news conference, I asked Sisolak what the medical rationale was for this distinction.

Because of that, Sisolak widens and deepens his political problem every day the state is shut down.

CCEA also said it would not support the reopening plan unless Gov. Steve Sisolak provides additional resources to CCSD, including $14 million in CARES Act funding to establish testing and contact tracing protocols for employees.

Gov. Sisolak announced April 27 that Nevada would be a member of the Western States Pact for reopening from the pandemic closures.

Gov. Sisolak, no doubt acting in good faith, insists he will base all decisions on “science” when it comes to deciding how the state will proceed on matters including lockdowns and openings.

Gov. Steve Sisolak took the inevitable next step on Wednesday and extended his shutdown order until the end of April.

If there was ever a time for Gov. Steve Sisolak not to follow California’s lead, this is it.

In a letter to Sisolak, Clark and Washoe counties’ health district officers alleged they had been shut out of the state’s discussions about policies and directives.

In a series of tweets Wednesday, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak called the situation dangerous.

In June, when King Sisolak issued a royal edict mandating masks, that was a plausible contention.

Instead, King Sisolak’s one-size-fits-all rules to the National Finals Rodeo moving to Texas this year.

Last week, though, Governor Sisolak signaled that casinos could reopen as early as June 4. But guidelines issued this month by the Nevada Gaming Control Board limit capacity to 50 percent and require new cleaning and social-distancing policies.
