CIGNAL tries to preserve its pristine record while Philippine Air Force and PGJC-Navy seek to extend their winning ways in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference Friday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Michele Gumabao topscored with 14 points against the HD Spikers, while Tots Carlos and Jema Galanza matched 13-point outputs and Ced Domingo and Pangs Panaga continued to shine in the middle and finished with nine and seven points, respectively.

University of Santo Tomas (UST) broke De La Salle’s winning streak at nine matches this season and against the Lady Maroons, the Lady Spikers were a team on fire.

She was joined by the PVL team Capital1 Solar Spikers, which she owns.

The Golden Spikers, last season’s University Athletic Association of the Philippines silver medalists, will rely heavily on the performances of JJ Macam and Gboy de Vega.

Dee Benson graduated from BYU’s law school in 1976, and that summer, played soccer professionally with the Utah Golden Spikers of the American Soccer League.

To bolster its bid in the 2020 season, professional women’s volleyball team Generika-Ayala Lifesavers tapped the services of hotshot spikers Rhea Dimaculangan, Carmina Aganon.

Aiza Maizo-Pontillas had an all-around game of 11 markers, 24 digs and 11 excellent receptions for the Blaze Spikers, while Toni Rose Basas added 10.

The Red Spikers, for their part, have Ces Racraquin and Nieza Viray in front of their offensive assault, but will need to step up on their defense after failing to convert a single block in their five-set win over the Lady Bombers.

The Secretary General for Solar Spikers Volleyball Club, Karifa Kello Thoronka, said that the friendly matches will bring both club together to development the game of volleyball in the sub region.

With that, the Blaze Spikers landed on Pool A together with Foton, Smart and Sta.
