There is no rustbucket we love to hate more than Starscream, so who better to voice him than the most lovable actor there is?

For those who might not be familiar with Starscream, the second-in-command of the Decepticons has long been a loose cannon in terms of his relationship with Megatron.

In the Generation 1 cartoon, Jetfire was a noble Decepticon scientist and best friend of Starscream, who defected from the Decepticon cause when he realized that their goals were the opposite of his own.

The Decepticons also mostly matched their typical personalities, with the ruthless Megatron, the scheming conniver Starscream and the cold and robotic Soundwave.

Notably, this happened in the Marvel comics after Ratchet restored Bumblebee’s original (but now bigger) form following Starscream’s deadly attack.

One of Megatron’s deadliest lieutenants, Starscream’s thirst for domination was only rivaled by The Decepticon leader himself.

Bumblebee's gleaming yellow and Starscream's colors appear brighter and, by limiting the number of robots in the movie, it will be easier to invest in them as characters as opposed to the one-dimensional (and frankly racist) stereotypes Bay leaned into.
