Operation Sharing will be operating an eight-week cold-weather shelter in a room at Avondale United Church in Tillsonburg.

Shannon Steen, 42, of Tillsonburg, Ont., stands at the end of her driveway, where her sons' basketball net has been set up for the last year and a half.

The 71-year-old from Tillsonburg, Ont., also won the Stanley Cup in 1994 as an associate coach with the New York Rangers.

There is a lunch program for children that runs out of First Baptist Church in Tillsonburg which provides lunches for 38 students daily during the school year.

One school-linked case remains active at South Ridge Public School in Tillsonburg involving a student, the Thames Valley District School Board says.
