Chimbanga, member of the DPP’s National Governing Council and critic of the Tonse Alliance Government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is currently being kept at Soche Police in Blantyre after being denied bail.

This week the PF joined the Tonse Alliance where Lungu was unveiled as presidential candidate and chairman.

Chakwera became the sixth President of Malawi following his triumph in the court-sanctioned Fresh Presidential Election held on June 23. He was propelled to power through a nine-party Tonse Alliance with Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima as vice-president.

He said the Tonse Alliance, if elected, will create over a million jobs, construct roads in townships and also build apartments in various townships across the country.

He said Tonse government makes sure that it takes on board all key stakeholders before it makes any critical decisions not only on Covid-19.

However, the party’s president Lazarus Chakwera, addressing the nine-party Tonse Alliance rally in Mzuzu on Sunday, accused government of failing to manage the Covid-19 pandemic by not closing the borders.

How, for instance, will the Tonse Alliance check the over-expenditure that has kept us back as a nation.
