Company leaders were speaking at a meeting of Torridge District Council’s overview and scrutiny committee where they were asked to answer questions about employment and education in the district.

He said the property behind it might be grade II-listed, but next door but one there was a 1970s building with aluminium window frames and the ground the canopy stood on, owned by Torridge District Council, is paved with modern brick.

Several sea trout and brown trout have also been tempted at this delightful fishery on the middle Torridge.

That includes Geoffrey Cox, who has earned £2.2m from legal work in the last three years while serving as Tory MP for Torridge and West Devon.

Back in 2021, Rachel became a Torridge district councillor and later its first transgender councillor but lost her seat in May 2023 having changed parties from Conservative to Independent.

Chris Keeble, chief operating officer of Active Torridge, said: “Life can often be busy, so we understand that knowing your blood pressure numbers and taking the time to get them measured is not always a priority.

Only one school in Exeter, Mid Devon, Torridge and North Devon have a sixth form – the schools in other districts mostly have sixth forms, with all schools in West Devon and East Devon having a sixth form.
