A current fashion is to pair a sans-serif typeface for headings with a high-performance serif typeface of matching style for the text of an article.

The typeface Comic Sans was created for (but not used in) Microsoft Bob citation and is still a popular—though often reviled—typeface today.

This typeface was in use until the mid-18th century, when it was gradually replaced with a Latin typeface (often antiqua ).
