KENNEWICK — Washington has been named the best state for nurses in a new study from WalletHub, a personal finance website that regularly conducts studies comparing states.

Not only does Overland Park, located in the Kansas City metro area, rank high on the happiness meter, but it took the No. 2 spot in WalletHub’s 2022 list of best cities for families.

Personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on the 2023’s Safest Cities in America.

The ranking by WalletHub researchers, based its overall score while comparing 18 metrics, including educational attainment, school quality in the analysis, reported San Antonio Current.

WalletHub came out with their list of the best states to live in for 2023 looking at several indicators including housing costs and income growth to the education rate and quality of hospitals.

Actually, five New York hometowns are among the worst run, according to Wallethub.

Analyzing statistics about cases of identity theft, loss of money to identity fraud, and local laws and protections against identity theft and fraud WalletHub ranked all 50 states, and Washington D.C., from safest to most at-risk states.

As for how WalletHub determined this, they pulled data from ESPN, MLB Advanced Media, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the NCAA and more.

California, meanwhile, claimed third place 'for much of the same reasons as the other top states,' workers at WalletHub wrote.

For those who want the nitty gritty, WalletHub compared states using two categories: Direct Work Factors and Indirect Work Factors, of which New York ranked in 50th and 18th, respectively.

Fox Business reached out to WalletHub for additional comment, but did not immediately hear back.

In identifying where unemployment claims are increasing the most, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on changes in unemployment claims for several key benchmark weeks.

On the other end of the spectrum, WalletHub ranked San Francisco, which has experienced issues with homelessness and high property crime rates in recent years, as the nation's worst-run city.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 30 key indicators of happiness.

WalletHub compared U.S. Census Bureau data for the 50 states and Washington, D.C., to determine the property tax rankings and divided the median real estate tax payment by the median home price in each state to produce an effective real estate tax rate.
