WAYCROSS — Edward M. Dennis, 65, died suddenly Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health System in Waycross.

He was a teacher and coach, employed by the Ware County Board of Education for many years and a member of First Baptist Church in Waycross and the Waycross Kiwanis Club.

Ronnie “Bo” Beecher, 71, of Waycross, died Monday (Jan. 1, 2018) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Sandra Karyle Dixon Thurston, 69, of Waycross died Monday morning (March 26, 2018) at Memorial Satilla Health of Waycross after an extended illness.

WAYCROSS — Jake M. Carter, Jr., 59, died Monday night, October 12, 2020, at Kindred Hospital of North Florida in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

WAYCROSS — June Mc- Googan Coleman, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Whatever altercation took place was serious enough that officers with the Waycross Police Department and the local county Sheriff’s Office were brought in to assist corrections officers in trying to maintain and restore order.

A man on a bicycle was injured Tuesday morning when he was shot several times with a paintball gun, said Waycross Police Capt. Tommy Cox.

A homegoing celebration for Ruby Irene Jones Leaphart was held Friday at 11 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 1085 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross.

A house in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue was burglarized some time between 2 and 6 p.m. Thursday and several household items were stolen, said Waycross Police Capt. Tommy Cox.
