It’s no coincidence that Connor (happiest of the Roy kids — his life is far from perfect, and he’s definitely delusional and dysfunctional in his own way, but he’s always had the right idea regarding Waystar.

It’s the first time we see the old Waystar guard really rise up against the younger crew.

Kendall and Roman, having decided that they don’t want to sell Waystar Royco to the Musk-like mogul Lukas Matsson, try to sow doubts about his leadership abilities among the company’s top executives.

Logan's death changes the whole playing field, with Waystar's stock dropping by 20% after his passing and regaining only 10% of it after Kendall and Roman were announced as co-CEOs.

Meanwhile, Roman has lunch with the head of Waystar Studios, the film branch of the company.

Nevertheless, an answer to the question of who would wind up in charge of Waystar Royco, the family company, was hotly anticipated as the show entered its final stretch.

On paper, Waystar Royco's general counsel Gerri Kellman appears the best fit to lead the company, and she proved that during her time as interim CEO.

Roman assures Kendall that anything not produced by Waystar (“broken shows,” “fake news”) really matters, and he then reluctantly participates in a big publicity photo shoot where Mattson signs the acquisition documents.

Roman has proved himself capable by closing business deals, but his outbursts (like the one with Matsson) have been disastrous for Waystar.

Roman is most actively following in Logan's footsteps, as his thirst for control of Waystar makes him staunchly endorse Mencken, who will also advance the corporation's agenda.
