Waystation

Adapted from Eto Mori’s 2007 novel of the same name, the film tells the story of a wayward soul who, after arriving at the waystation of the afterlife, is gifted with the opportunity to regain its life by reincarnating in the body of a suicide victim.

The drearily in-between shades of gray here represent a purgatory, a waystation between Heaven and Hell.
