Weathervanes

The open day is being held to celebrate the completion of repair works to the church’s pinnacles and weathervanes, and a year-long series of heritage activities, thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

We are in phase one which is to make the building wind and watertight and undertake essential stone works repairs, as well as the preservation of ornate stones and other original features such as the weathervanes, gutters, doors, railings, and gates.

Material culture includes pottery, woodworking, wood and stone sculpting and general crafts, as well as decorative ironwork such as weathervanes.
