During the Regional Competition Wheelersburg student Abyghale Jones won an Outstanding Attorney Award and Brady Schomburg won an Outstanding Witness Award.

Minford sandwiched another non-league win, against Athens on Wednesday, around Southern Ohio Conference home victories on Tuesday and Thursday —against Wheelersburg and Valley respectively.

The Trojans tacked two runs on again in the bottom of the sixth on three hits, and with Brooks back out for the seventh —Wheelersburg went down 1-2-3, with a pair of flyouts followed by another Brooks strikeout.

Wheelersburg senior Kiera Kennard (12) scored 10 points on five-of-seven shooting and grabbed six rebounds during the Lady Pirates meeting with Columbus Africentric in a Division III state semifinal at the University of Dayton Arena.

Wheelersburg falls to 2-4 and will look to bounce back with an SOC matchup next week at home versus Oak Hill.
