Despite starting in the middle of the pandemic in September 2020, the inaugural event at Ilkley Golf Club was a resounding success, with Ian Woosnam as the proud host.

If what Porthcawl needs is another Woosnam, where will inspiration come from if the only visitors are amateurs and old men?
