Chitlin

When I was older, that whole odor of home-made gin, pigs’ feet, chitlin’, and poverty, and the basement: all this got terribly mixed together in my mind with the Holy Roller, White God business.

We came from a place where we spent many years gathering, going from the "Chitlin Circuit" in the south all the way up to Canada and gathering musicalities and seeing amazing people that nobody had ever heard of that were extraordinary.
